Another Encaustic. 12" x 12"

Perpetual Phase

Another medium that I enjoy is Encaustic. It's a wax medium. I love the translucency that it can create. This one is 12" x 9".

This is one of my latest paintings titled Passion. I suppose very fitting to post on Valentines' Day. I'm working on a series of 11" X 14" Automatic Intuitive paintings. Like some my previous postings, I pick a card from the Creative Transformation Card deck. I do not look at the card until I'm finished with the painting. The deck consists of 67 cards. I plan to do a painting for each card.

PASSION

You may be searching for your life’s purpose. If you feel less than enthusiastic and passionate about your life and your work, know that you have the power to change it at any time. If you’ve made a choice and it isn’t working, choose again until you feel right. Recognizing when something feels right, or is in need of change, is the key. Passion is a tool, like all feelings and emotions. It ignites purpose within you and learning to recognize and utilize it in your life will help you manifest movement in areas where you desire change. Passion helps you create a willingness to be the creator that you may have forgotten you are.
Look for the unexpected gifts in everyday life. Go places you haven’t been before. Take a class you’ve always wanted to or never thought you’d take. Don’t be afraid to express yourself enthusiastically because this will help lead you to your life’s purpose.

Today I choose to explore my life as a creative experience.

thoughts

This comment came to me today from a fellow seeker. I found it to be very powerful and inspiring. It went something like this... The beauty is in the mystery of not knowing who we really are.
Thanks J.

My Home Studio

With the help of my friend Bill, thanks Bill, I created a new work surface in my home studio space. That way if I don't want to venture out on these cold winter days I have a great surface to work on right at home. It's a 4'x8' sheet of homesote attached to a piece of plywood. The homesote is soft enough to allow push pins to go in to the surface. You can attach the homesote directly to the wall if you like. Now all that I need to do is tack up some paper and get creating. You can too if you like. You should be able to get homesote at your local lumberyard. Don't let them look at you like your crazy when you say homesote. It's a brand name and it does exist. Have fun.

Okay one last thing for the day. Have you noticed that I'm my own follower? Well that happened by mistake and i did mildly try to delete it, but then sort of liked the idea of being my own follower. yeah, yeah, I'm a Leo, we can't help ourselves.

Happy New Year...2010 Here we go again.

I thought that I would pick a card from the Creative Transformation card deck. A new year message for all of us.
shuffle,shuffle,shuffle...here goes.

LIGHTEN UP

Relax into life today and become more light-hearted.

Learn to laugh at yourself first.

Laughter is the food that nurtures the divine part of you

and allows your heart to lighten up from the deepest level of your being.

You are only as light as you allow yourself to be.

Surrender to the love and joy in you and around you
and be the lightest being possible.

Today I choose to lighten up...just a little bit more.

Explanation of the process that I went through to create the drawings posted.

I started with 8 titles. Awareness, acceptance, control, earth, emotional, energy, relationships, meyuse, and 8 blank sheets of paper. I randomly chose a word without looking at it and proceeded to do an automatic drawing on the first sheet of paper. I continued to choose a word and went to the next sheet of paper and so on and so on. After 8 drawings were finished that had 8 words connected to them, I looked at what words were linked to what painting. That is the first drawing on the top left corner. At a future date when I was at the studio, I took the first drawing and tacked it on my board and referred to it to do the second drawing, but also in a very automatic way. That one you'll find in the upper right corner. After the two were finished I set them aside for a few weeks, maybe a month. I went back to the studio and tacked up 8 more blank sheets of paper and again randomly chose one of the same words that I used in the original 8 drawings. Again without looking at the coresponding words until I completed all 8 drawings. Nothing struck me until I brought the last 8 drawings home and compared them to the original 8 drawings. Interesting how similar they are in design, feeling, etc. Hmmmmmmmm
